There's been a mix of certainty and uncertainty in WWE. Stars have left, and new stars have been joined. The wrestling world moved forward as it always had; some moves brilliant, others incredibly stupid.

One of the more brilliant ones was the announcement of HBK as the first inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame this year. HBK will join the likes of Bret Hart, Ric Flair, Bobby Heenan, Curt Hennig, Gorilla Monsoon, and many of the history making stars throughout the years.

Shawn Michaels has always been one of the men I could look at and call one the best of all time. He is someone who has wrestled everybody; all of those next big things, supermen, surefire hall of famers, greatest in-ring performers of their generation and wheelin' and dealin' son of a guns. They have all stepped into the ring at one point or another with The Icon.

Yes, Shawn has wrestled nearly everyone there is to wrestle and done almost every match there is to be done. It was truly a career he can look back on with no regrets, a masterpiece that any wrestler would love to have. There is only one match Shawn is yet to have, though, and one man he is yet to beat.

WWE tried to keep his appearance quiet, and even some people n Stamford who are usually clued in didn't even know until Michael showed up on TV. The song for HBK's music video last night was "Chances Are" by Five For Fighting.

Seconds after his appearance, Michaels tweeted "Surprise, surprise," and followed up with "Seriously, thanks to all of you for making my career such a joy. I will carry those moments with me all my life. Thanks for sharing it with me."

He emerged to a huge ovation, and lapped up the adulation before entering the ring. Before he had a chance to speak, he was joined by Alberto Del Rio, who put down the accomplishments of Michaels, touting himself as the next Mr WrestleMania. Shawn silenced the cocky Mexican with a rendition of Sweet Chin Music, to the crowd's delight.
