Sachin Tendulkar congratulated Virender Sehwag on becoming the highest scorer in ODIs after his 219 run blitz against West Indies in the 4th ODI on Thursday.
In an SMS sent to news media site, Sachin wrote, "I am very happy for Viru. It is even more satisfying that an Indian has broken my record."
Prior to Sehwag's effort Sachin's unbeaten 200 run score against South Africa in 2010 was the only double ton in ODIs.
India powered their way to a 418-run total, their highest in ODIs as India took a big leap to claiming the series which they led 2-1. |

Ireland and the other Associate nations may yet play in the 2015 World Cup after the ICC's cricket committee recommended that a qualifying tournament be held for the competition.
The committee, composed of ex-players and administrators, did not specify what format it should take, but proposed that the ICC board should scrap its controversial move to restrict the competition to the sport's 10 full members.
