The world number 2 looks like he is on fantastic form for the 2010 Paris Masters title.
Roger Federer is into the semifinals and the good news for his fans is that he has a pretty clear path to the title. Novak Djokovic suffered an upset earlier in the draw while Andy Murray lost on Friday and those two results took the main threats to Federer winning in Paris out of contention.
That leaves Federer with a draw that includes Gael Monfils and likely Robin Soderling, two players that Federer has rarely had trouble with in the past.
Here are the results from November 12th's quarterfinals:
* Roger Federer d. Jurgen Melzer 6-1, 7-6
* Gael Monfils d. Andy Murray 6-2, 2-6, 6-3
* Robin Soderling d. Andy Roddick 7-5, 6-4
* Michael Llodra d. Nikolay Davydenko 7-5, 6-1
That sets up Saturday semifinals that look like this:
* Roger Federer vs Gael Monfils
* Robin Soderling vs Michael Llodra
